10DTE - Interland Is Awesome!

Interland Is Awesome!

 Introduction
Over this past week, I have been playing this online game created by Google that teaches the user what a digital citizenship is in and how most importantly to become internet safe. This game is called 'Interland' and my task was to analyze this game and how it helps us learn about being internet safe.

Digital Learning Object
The Interland Interactive game made by Google Inc.

Reflection
I really wouldn't expect to have this make fun playing a game like the Interland experience. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone how hasn't given it a go, and it's a great learning experience. There were four different levels included in the game design. There are four main levels which are: Reality river, Mindful Mountain, Tower of Treasure, and Kind Kingdom. The first level is Kind Kingdom. Kind Kingdom is based off Blocking cyber bullies, and trap them behind bars so they can’t get to the victim that the bully can’t get to them. You also hand out positive content to the people that get/have been bullied. You also get to jump from platform to platform to get to your destination. In Mindful Mountain you share information with friends on social media, the info that is being sent is private and personal stuff which is you’ve got to think twice whether to post it or not. The design is to find correct patterns and pathways. The third level is a level called Tower of Treasure where the aim of the game is to run in a temple-run like a platform whilst collecting different letters/symbols on a keyboard to form a hacker-proof password. To start off, you create a simple password but as the levels progress, you add in capital letters and randomized symbols to make it virtually unguessable. Last but not least is the fourth level which is  Reality River. Reality River is basically a level where the player is set in a river trying to cross it. To cross the river the player must answer the questions correctly in order to move up a step. The questions vary but mainly focus on Online Phishing and scam/fake emails. The player is shown many possible answers to the question but only one of the answers are correct.

10SocialStudies-Slave Trade Triangle Paragraphs

What is the Slave Trade Triangle?
The first slaves to America went to Charles Town, South Carolina. Here slaves would be sold in auctions. The voyage began from Europe to Africa, this is known as the first passage. The cargo carried are guns and other weapons. The Africans were then traded for the guns. The Africans got sold the guns and then the African Slaves got on board the ships.
What is the Middle Passage?
The slaves were then shipped to the USA and processed for auction. The Middle Passage was the crossing from Africa to the Americas, which the ships made carrying their 'cargo' of Slaves. The Africans were treated very poorly, for example, The slaves were extremely claustrophobic as the Slaves were close to each other and treated like animals and they hardly had any food or water. The men were forced to dance and be manipulated.
What is the Third Passage
Once they arrived in America, they were sold to wealthy Slave owners. Once they were purchased they were branded and put to work in the fields. The life of a slave was exhausting and they would have to work all night and day. All the Cotton, Tobacco and other products are put back on ships and sent to Europe. Once the ships get to Europe, they are sold. This is known as the Third Passage. Then more guns and weapons are purchased. The guns got purchased and traded for the Slaves.
